With all the great activity going on at Dreamforce last week, we couldn't miss a chance to sit down with Aria Systems' President and CEO Tom Dibble and ask him what he thought about the show. In addition to the high level of traffic (across the city, across Moscone and across our booth!) and general buzz around the event (high velocity and high volume!), he discussed how the adoption of cloud technologies is enabling companies, from startups to large enterprises, to use subscription management systems like the Aria Platform.
Mark Smith, founder and chief research officer for Ventana Research, stopped by the Aria Systems booth at Dreamforce to give us his take on the cloud. He discussed the complexity of integrating a variety of cloud applications, and offered some great insight on the relationship between customer service and subscription billing.
We were lucky enough to run into Sal Visca, CTO for Elastic Path Software, at Dreamforce. So we pulled him into the Aria Systems booth to get a quick take on his thoughts about the event. He covered some really good topics, including how the cloud has transitioned from an industry buzzword to tangible market force. He also had some good insight into billing, as he used to do a lot of work in the telco space and really understands the complexities that come with how to handle billing for subscription offerings.
We had another great day at Dreamforce, including a conversation with Ed Sullivan, CEO of G2Link (and one of our co-founders!). Ed stopped by to check out our new Aria Salesforce.com Connector demo and while he was at the booth, we got a chance to talk about what it was like in the early days at Aria Systems, as well as what he thinks about the amazing growth the company is experiencing.
We were lucky enough to have Mark Gorenberg, Managing Director for Hummer Winblad Venture Partners (and one of our investors!), stop by our booth to discuss the "latest and greatest" in cloud computing. We love getting the chance to meet up with our partners at industry events, so were really pleased when Sunil Arora, head of SaaS solutions for Cognizant, stopped by our booth at Dreamforce. He took the time to talk to us about some of the interesting trends he is seeing in the ISV space, in particular the introduction of innovative new pricing models (and the need for a flexible subscription billing platform, of course!).

Webb Stevens, Senior Director of Business Development for Avalara, stopped by to talk about the show and the major trends he’s seeing in the cloud space this year. One of the biggest from his perspective: integration. Clients need an easy-to-integrate system that enables a consistent, fast billing process…from quote all the way through payment and revenue recognition. Which is where Aria Systems fits the bill (pun intended!).
