Ed Sullivan, CEO and Founder

Ed Sullivan, Aria Systems’ Founder, has been the CEO since the company’s inception in 2003. As CEO, Ed offers his vision, innovative ideas and valuable insight to the needs of the marketplace to bear on Aria’s strategic direction. Under his leadership, Aria has been established as the market leader in on-demand billing and customer lifecycle solutions and currently supports over 1 million customer accounts in 236 countries.

Ed’s entrepreneurial spirit and innovative ideas have led him to build several successful companies. Prior to Aria, he was the Founder and President of LaserLink.net, the World’s first and largest Virtual Internet Service Provider. LaserLink provided billing and Internet services to over one million end users and operated the Internet Services for several ISP’s including American Express, Compaq, Gateway, Amway and IBM. LaserLink was acquired by Covad Communications in March 2000.

Ed serves as a Director of NetQOS, an Austin Texas based IT company which offers end to end network management solutions. NetQOS was recently ranked the number one fastest growing technology company in Texas by Deloitte and Touche. He also serves on the advisory board of Covad Communications (DVW) a publicly traded provider of voice and data services. Ed has a BS in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University.

E. Barry Smith, CFO

E. Barry Smith joined Aria as the Chief Financial Officer of Aria in December 2006. Prior to joining Aria, Barry was CFO of Telkonet (AMEX: TKO). He is a CPA and senior financial executive with diversified experience in both public and private companies. From September 1987 to February of 2003, Barry was employed as a financial partner and retained as a consultant with Safeguard Scientifics (NYSE: SFE) and its subsidiary companies, including ThinAirApps, Inc. (a wireless application provider that was sold to Palm, Inc.), Interactive Marketing Venture (a database marketing company) and Tangram Enterprise Solutions (a developer of software/hardware for PC/LAN mainframe connectivity and enterprise software management). His professional background also includes big-four public accounting experience with the accounting firm of Deloitte & Touche. Barry has also served as Vice President of Finance and Administration for US Golf Management (a public/private golf course and restaurant management company), Vice President of Finance for International Communications Research (a market research and database services company) and Treasurer for The Chilton Company (a publishing company).

Peter Worth, CTO

Peter Worth joined Aria Systems in 2007 as Chief Technology Officer. As CTO, he is responsible for the overarching product and technology strategy for Aria as well as working with key partners to leverage the company’s technology platform. Peter comes to Aria with over 12 years of technology and management experience in Software Development and Management Consulting, the last 5 of which have been spent managing development teams and infrastructures in the SaaS arena. Prior to joining Aria, Peter held management level positions at Taleo, Adjoined Consulting, and Portal Software. He has a Bachelors of Arts degree from Brown University in Economics and a Masters of Science degree in Computer Science from New York University.

Tom Dibble, VP, Business Development

Tom comes to Aria from Oracle Corporation where he served as VP of Strategic Alliances since joining the company as a result of Oracle’s acquisition of BEA Systems in May, 2008. Prior to Oracle Tom was VP of Worldwide Alliances and Channels at BEA where he led the global team responsible for BEA’s partnerships across ISVs, System Integrators, NEPs, and Platform alliances. Examples of these partners ranged from VMWare/EMC to Accenture, Intel, HP and Nokia. Prior to this role Tom led Worldwide Business Development for BEA where he and his team managed all partner related initiatives driven by BEA’s product ecosystem and build versus buy strategies. Before joining BEA Tom led Business Development at several start-ups backed by Kleiner Perkins and Mayfield including Slam Dunk Networks, BeVocal and Greenlight.com. Tom began his career working for Goldman Sachs and Company in New York, and received a degree in Economics with Honors from Syracuse University. 

Bill Macy, VP, Sales

Bill Macy joined Aria Systems in 2009 as the Vice President of Sales. Bill is responsible for setting Aria’s sales strategy and driving revenue growth through enterprise customer base expansion. Bill is a seasoned sales executive, bringing over 20 years of high tech experience in Finance, Operations, Sales and Sales Management to Aria. Most recently, Bill was responsible for the financial services vertical in the western U.S. for Business Objects products at SAP. Before his tenure at Business Objects and SAP, Bill began his career in the Relational Database and 4GL Tools business at Ingres, ASK and Computer Associates.

Andy Frizzell, VP, Customer Operations

Andy Frizzell joined Aria Systems in 2008 as the Vice President of Customer Operations. Andy is responsible for all customers and partners in the areas of solution creation, implementation, training, and support. Andy has over 15 years of professional services experience with CSG Systems, Portal Software, Datasweep and Bricsnet, managing and supporting enterprise software solutions nationally and internationally. Andy has a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities from The University of Texas at Austin.
